UPDATE: Aidan Trevelyan is now Ed trevelyan's father rather than brother. You can go see his new face(s) on my Tumblr:

I have been wanting to do this for a long time, firstly because I had a dire need to arrange my countless Dragon Age: Inquisition OCs in a more systemic way; and secondly because I secretly hope someone will find this interesting!

So, without further ado, let me introduce you to my throng of Inquisitors!

(For those not too familiar with Dragon Age, all of the Inquisitors belonging to one race have the same last name because that is a preset for the protagonist in Bioware games; though some of my fellas and gals actually are related to one another, as you will see shortly).

Elves

Arryn Lavellan

Arryn by NorroenDyrd

My 'canon' Inquisitor (ie the one I beat the game and all DLC with). Male mage, in his early to mid twenties. Impulsive, flashy, vain, and secretly very insecure. Will turn mountains to make Cassandra smile, while claiming he only did it to show off his mountain-turning abilities. Has never been sexually drawn to men, but cares for his best friend Dorian almost as fervently as he does for Cassandra. Studied Necromancy under Cassandra's uncle Vestalus, which lead to some family sitcom hijinks. Made Vivienne Divine just to see Chantry folk squirm at the sight of a mage in power.

Nienna Lavellan

Nienna by NorroenDyrd

Arryn's mother; thus, not actually an Inquisitor. In her late forties. Was the craftswoman of her clan, but will pick up a bow to fight if needed. Cautious, quietly intelligent, and diplomatic; slightly afraid of her son's power, but aware of her fear and determined to work past it. Her desire to understand everything related to the Anchor brought her closer to Solas - making post-Trespasser family arguements very interesting. 'You are planning to propose to a human  almost twice your age!'; 'Well, you made out with the Dread Wolf!'. Almost bought into Solas' plan to return elves to former glory, but will not allow him to destroy the world.

Maedhros 'Ros' Lavellan

Ros by NorroenDyrd

Mage in his mid to late forties. Was once the Keeper of another clan but was taken in by Clan Lavellan, where his sister Deshanna is Keeper, after his charges got slaughtered by an abomination. Reserved and brusque; haunted by his past and very pessimistic. Cassandra and Blackwall had to literally punch him into dueling Lord Ortanto because he would rather let Josephine go (reasoning that nothing perfect lasts forever, and that she was too good for him anyway) than fight for his love. Actually supports Circles and Templars because a child from his clan was rescued by one. His favourite pastime is crafting things out of wood together with Blackwall - in complete silence.

Gwineth Lavellan

Gwineth by NorroenDyrd

A city elf mage that managed to escape the Templars and was taken in by a Dalish clan. In her mid twenties. Virulently allergic to injustice. Addicted to hoarding random facts from books. Started out mistrusting all shems (especially Templars), ended up pinned by one against a writing desk.

Jacqueline 'Jackie' La Vellan

Jackie by NorroenDyrd

Only half-Dalish on her father's side. Looks out for the little people and gets snappy with those Dalish who put down city elves; but more serious and organized than Sera. Devout Andrastian, hoping that thanks to her heroic deeds, the Canticle of Shartan will be reinstated into the Chantry canon. Wields a huge warhammer twice her size. As a child, had a crush on the winner of the Grand Tourney, one Thom Rainier; luckily, it was too long ago and she only admired him from afar (plus beards do wonders). Still, fate took quite a funny twist for her and Thom in the end.

Yavanna Lavellan

Yavanna by NorroenDyrd

Happy blue-eyed rogue in her early twenties. Cheerful and friendly towards everyone she meets. Convinced that frolicking is therapeutic. Great with children and all creatures big and small. Will hug anyone, from Cassandra to Vivienne (even though she does not support the Circle). Utterly in love with both the world she lives in and the one who is bent on destroying it. Fun fact: she was to be my canon Inquisitor, but I just couldn't bring myself to finish a Solavellan playthrough.

Humans

Meredith 'Ed' Trevelyan

Ed by NorroenDyrd

Rebellious Circle mage. In her twenties, but still loud, brash, and occasionally sulky, as a teenager (probably because being cooped up in a tower all her life did not help develop social skills on a mature adult's level). Used to hate her name with the fury of a thousand suns, but was given a good pep talk by Varric, who encouraged her to be so epicly heroic that the world remembers Meredith the Inquisitor, not Meredith the crazy Knight Commander. Regarding Templars, suffered the same fate as Gwineth Lavellan - though it took her quite a great deal of learning and growing up to be able to see people inside those suits of armour.

Aidan Trevelyan

Aidan by NorroenDyrd

Not an Inquisitor. Meredith's older brother, in his mid thirties. Taciturn; very serious and single-minded; capable warrior. Would have loved to officially join the Templars if his parents agreed to let him go. Feels stiff and uncomfortable outside his armour. Bad at making independent decisions. Very cautious with magic, even his sister's; prone to take the teachings of the Chantry at face value - and completely disoriented by his infatuation with an 'evil' Tevinter magister... Sorry, altus.

Anactoria 'Ana' Trevelyan

Ana by NorroenDyrd

In her early thirties. Dazzling on the dance floor, deadly with her daggers - wields her mind like one, too. Enjoys courtly intrigue, but draws the line when innocents get caught in between feuding nobles. Has a very subtle, Wildean sense of humour. In her spare time, dabbles in the fine arts. Initially flirted with Vivienne (and got turned down), but has since gotten her interest piqued by Sera, charmed by her refreshing outlook and unable to resist her soft pink lips. Sera cannot resist hers either, and it makes her slightly confused, since Ana's a noble and all - but shite she is pretty!

Samira Trevelyan

Renee by NorroenDyrd

Idealistic little sword and board knight in her late twenties. Convinced that Andraste is guiding her to build a better world. Considered becoming a Sister before the Conclave mess (Samira, apart from being a beautiful female name in its own right, is also an anagram for Aramis). Was startled to discover that she actually enjoys kinky things - especially when delivered by godless Qunari.

Kaleb Trevelyan

Kaleb by NorroenDyrd

Mage in his thirties. Bastard son of a Marcher noble, born to a Rivaini mother: a favoured mistress, whose pregnancy was welcomed at first, because Bann Trevelyan's legal spouse was infertile. However, when she was already heavy with child, Kaleb's mother accidentally revealed herself to be an apostate mage - something that would not be much of a problem in Rivain, but is a big deal in the Free Marches. Terrified that his bloodline would be 'tainted' by magic (but at the same time desperate to continue said bloodline) Trevelyan Senior had his mistress made Tranquil before she carried the child to term. But Kaleb still turned out to be a mage, and was given away to the Circle, 'out of harm's way', at the age of six. His grown-up self, while very dedicated to studying and skilled with magic (and also very big-hearted), is painfully socially awkward and has difficulty sorting out his emotions (possibly as a side effect of the Rite of Tranquility performed on his mother). He now has an amatus to help him with that, though.

Frida Trevelyan

Frida by NorroenDyrd

Grumpy claymore-wielding lady in her forties. Not actually a Trevelyan, but a family retainer. Grumpy and not overly fun to be around (unless you know her very well); prefers to let her blade do the talking. Dislikes people in authority and their dismissive attitude towards those who ensure their well-being by working tirelessly in their fields and homes. Gets outraged by 'unnatural' magic such as blood rituals or binding spirits (thus exiled the Wardens). If she lived in Skyrim, she would have been a True Nord (tm). Unlike most True Nords, though, she adores her tiny feisty elven girlfriend.

Dwarves

Hazdrubal Cadash

Haz by NorroenDyrd

Taken in by the Carta as a tiny street urchin, and all too happy to leave his criminal family behind and to no longer hear the 'You owe us, now do as we say' speeches. Currently a chubby lil fella in his late twenties, with starry eyes and dreams of becoming a warrior of legend (by the way, his real name is Erik, but that did not sound heroic enough). Likes tasty snacks and playing with action figures from Tale of the Champion (Varric does NOT get royalties for these) and feels guilty about it, sort of. The easiest way to lure him into a trap would be to imitate the sound of a crying baby or a whimpering puppy. I have not finished his playthrough yet, but there is a high likelihood of his beloved Cassandra becoming Divine - in which case, he will remain at her side as her Right Hand, their hearts bound by profound platonic (or not so platonic) friendship.

Azelma Cadash

Azelma by NorroenDyrd

Spoilt princess daughter of a Carta boss. Likes shiny things and silken garments. Consumes large amounts of sweetmeats, and don't you dare hint what it might do to her figure. For someone so short and chubby is actually quite nimble with a bow. Squees every time when she sees a pony. May seem shallow and irresponsible at first, but is actually as determined to fight evil as the Inquisitor (and is secretly plagued by self-doubt over her shady past). Likes her men big and hairy, and loves her big and hairy man.

Malinka Cadash

Malinka by NorroenDyrd

A shrewd and cheeky little Carta rogue, spy, and occasional assassin, who, once Marked by weird Fade stuff, has put her skills towards defeating the foes of Thedas. Her slight overbite gives her a look of childish innocence, which she uses to make her target lower their defenses. Would have loved to be a bard (perhaps Leliana will teach her some day) - and is actually very fun at parties...  And after parties, if you ask Bull. Nope, I did not misspell her name: while Malika is the default name for a female Dwarf protagonist, Malinka means 'Little Raspberry' in my mothertongue.

Ralav Cadash

Ralav by NorroenDyrd

Early to mid thirties. Likes to think of himself as a dashing swashbuckler and gentleman thief, but actually gets himself into various messes quite often - which is okay, because the said messes almost always result in a daring escape. Undaunted optimist. Referred to by some as 'Varric's brother from another mother' (though Varric is not too thrilled by the comparison, given  what tends to happen to his family). Thinks he is hella smooth, and engages in playful flirtatious back-and-forths with everyone. Except Cassandra - because he is actually in love with her.

Vashothari

Farkhad Adaar

Farkhad by NorroenDyrd

Big precious wooly ram. Mage in his mid twenties; would have loved to have been accepted into the Circle and allowed to peacefully study healing magic, instead of being used as a weapon of mass destruction. Constantly steps on things and breaks precious paraphernalia; constantly apologizes for that, too. Feels awkward and guilty whenever his enemies curse him for foiling their plans (also suffers from severe second-hand embarrassment on the said foes' behalf).  Great shoulder to cry on: won't give any constructive response to your venting, but will gladly snuggle with you till you've calmed down. Writes poems in his spare time, mostly about the heavenly beauty of Josephine Montilyet.

Naali Adaar

Naali by NorroenDyrd

Stern mercenary archer in her early thirties. Likes it when things get done. Fiercely protective of her Inquisition Ohana. Fond of personally taking part in various construction efforts around Skyhold, sleeves rolled up and everything. Another favourite hobby is punching bullies - hard. Has a big gap between her front teeth, and concealing it has caused her to develop a habit of smiling with her mouth shut and her lips stretching (not that she smiles too often anyway). Having grown up among humans and being accustomed to getting judged by their standards of attractiveness, does not consider herself to be much of a looker in general, but is not bothered by it: she has more important things to do than look pretty! (She was even slightly angry with herself for getting butterflies when her best friend confessed to 'being at her feet').

Taashath Adaar

Taashath by NorroenDyrd

Stoic chunk of rock with a huge war hammer (we are talking about weapons, I swear!). Late thirties to early forties. Slow to anger, but frightening in battle rage. Takes great pains to hide his soft side in public, but allows himself to turn into an amiable papa bear when he is with close friends. Likes to always have a battle strategy in place (probably glares at his player a lot for not using the tactical cam). Single father of a teenage daughter, who often has him worried with her antics (and infuriates him with her constant 'Lol Dad, you have the hots for Cass!' teasing). Varric's nickname for him is 'Floofy' due to his soft hair. His daughter is friends with Cole and starts an asexual romantic relationship with him when he is made more human, thus making the no-longer-forgotten boy an official part of Taashath's weird but loving family.

It's so fun seeing all your characters in a nice shiny line up! The diversity is glorious to behold, and so colourful! A couple new faces I'd never seen too, like Kaleb, and the big tough looking Dwarf guy (whose name I don't remember.)! What a treat! High five for all the romances too. I always have good intentions of romancing a (new) character all the way through and never get very far....lucky if I pass the intro...heh. But you manage to have lovely back stories for everyone! :D
